Apple Messages

Overview 

The Bulk Upload/Download feature allows you to efficiently manage Apple Messages across multiple locations. This centralized approach helps ensure consistency and saves time for teams managing high volumes of listings.

Background 

Apple Business Connect supports promotional messages that can drive directly from the listing. These messages typically include short descriptions and a destination URL for offers or updates. Bulk management of this data simplifies updates for businesses with a large footprint.

Who is this feature for?

This feature is designed for digital marketing managers or operations leads at multi-location businesses who oversee listing accuracy and promotional messaging across platforms. It is particularly useful for teams handling frequent updates across dozens or hundreds of business locations.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Bulk Updating Apple Messages

1. Access the Bulk Upload/Download Feature:

From the main dashboard, click on 'My Business'. 

Click on Configurations, and select Bulk Upload/Download from the drop-down.

 

2. Download Profile Data:

Download the Profile Data – UNAP and PAS spreadsheet.

3. Locate Apple Messages Tab:

In the downloaded spreadsheet, navigate to the Apple Messages tab.

For each business profile (identified by the Profile Alias), enter:

  • The message category (e.g., Promotion, Announcement)
  • The text of the message
  • The destination URL where the user will be directed upon clicking the message

 

4. Upload the sheet to apply the bulk messages. 

Glossary

  • Profile Alias: A unique identifier for each location or listing.
  • Message Category: The type or purpose of the Apple message.
  • Destination URL: The landing page linked through the Apple message.

Tips for Success:

  • Standardize message categories to maintain consistency across profiles.
  • Customize messages based on geographic or seasonal relevance.
  • Ensure all destination URLs are live and appropriate for the message content.
